Foundation Hall

In 1997, Roland Phleps commissioned architect Detlef Sacker to build an exhibition hall. Today, it forms the heart of the foundation. Nestled between woods and residential areas, the hall has captivated visitors since its opening in 1999 with its generous skylights and light-flooded portico, which lend it a special atmosphere. Several times a year, exhibitions of Concrete and Constructive Art are held here on approximately 300 m² of floor space, as well as concerts that enrich the cultural diversity of the foundation.
Once or twice a year, window displays offer visitors the opportunity to discover Roland Phleps' works while out for a stroll.
In 2006, the exhibition hall was awarded the Prize for Exemplary Building in Freiburg 1998–2006 by the Baden-Württemberg Chamber of Architects – a worthy recognition of its successful architecture and its important role in the cultural life of the region.
